Tri-City Driving School Classroom & Behind The Wheel Program

Tri-City Driving School is Adult & Teen certified by the Illinois Secretary of State for Classroom Driver Education (30 Hours) & Behind The Wheel Instruction (12 hours total: 6 hours driving and 6 hours of observation).

• Classroom Instruction Details:

The Driver Safety classroom sessions are taught in 2 hour lessons consisting of 15 classroom meetings.  We offer classes right after school, evening classes, and weekend classes.

The 30 hours of classroom includes:

• Signs, Signals, and Roadway Markings

• Basic Car Controls

• Marking Safe Driving Decisions:  The IPDE Process

• Natural Laws and Car Control

• Performing Basic Car Maneuvers

• Negotiating Intersections

• Sharing the Roadway

• Driving in Urban Areas

• Driving in Rural Areas

• Driving on Expressways

• Driving in Adverse Conditions

• Handling Emergencies

• Alcohol, Other Drugs, and Driving

• Maintaining Your Vehicle

• Behind The Wheel Instruction Details:

The Behind The Wheel driving lessons are also in 2 hour time blocks.  We have very flexible driving hours to meet your needs.  We have driving instruction times in the evenings during the week and daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday.  We can help you finish your hours in just 15 days!

The 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction includes:

• Starting

• Stopping

• Turning

• Backing

• On street parking

• Parking lot driving and parking

• Lane usage

• Steering

• Handling emergency situations

• Rules of the road knowledge and driving etiquette
